Welcome to Year 4
Our class Christian value is trust.
In Year 4 we strive to be the very best we can be and we try our hardest in everything we do. We aim to have as much fun as possible whilst learning many new things, as well as building on previous learning. It is also my goal to ensure that the children are happy within school and that they are well-prepared for the new challenges they will face as they progress into the Upper Juniors.
Feel free to browse our class page to find out more information about what we study in Year 4.
I thank you for your continued support.

Useful Information
PE
Our PE Days this term are Mondays and Thursdays. Children should have kit available in school every day.
Wider Opportunities
Wider Opportunities Brass lessons take place each Tuesday. Your child needs to take their instrument home to practise each week but must have it in school on Tuesdays as the children work on new skills and music during these lessons.
Homework
Every half term, there will be a homework 'menu' sent home. Children can choose one item to complete every week. Try to complete at least one 'Extra Hot' challenge each half term.
Spellings
Although we no longer do a spelling test on a Friday, we practise spellings daily in school. You can help your child with spellings at home by practising words from the Year 3 and 4 spelling list. This can be found in the back of your child's diary.
Times Tables
By the end of Year 4, every child should know their multiplication tables upto 12 x 12. We use Times Tables Rockstars to support children and help them to learn in an engaging way. Every week, there will be a new times table added to Times Table Rockstars for children to practise at home. This will then be consolidated during maths lessons. It is vital that children practise their times tables regularly.
