Dear Parents and Carers

It is unfortunate that we are entering a period of school closure. However, we really value your continued support. To ensure your child/children continue to access the learning, I have provided a list of year five activities and resources that are the main focus of learning at this stage of the school year. These resources include both written worksheets and online learning activities.

The following web links can be used to access a wealth of useful resources:

Year 5

Summer Term Update:

Good morning everyone. I hope you all are well and had a lovely Easter.

Some of you may be getting to the end of your work packs, or even just fancy a change - these are links some

learning packages that have daily activities that the children could have a go at:
Scroll down to the pink boxes and click on our year group and there are daily maths activities similar to the ones we do in class. There are short learning videos with tasks.
Click on Start a lesson then again scroll down to Year 5 and there are daily English and Maths
as well as tasks linked to different areas of the curriculum.

We should be starting our new Research Project about Ancient Greece too so I will upload a task each week about  this too.
Most of the activities can be done without the need for printing - the children can look at the tasks on screen then answer them on paper. Please don't worry if the children haven't finished their work packs - it is absolutely fine for them to carry on with those activities.

Thank you all again for your continued support. Take care.
Mrs D

This is in your home pack – it has Maths and English activities. It is similar to the activities that we use in class.

Remember to look at the letters in the stars in the bottom corner:

D – easier

E – medium

GD – tricky!

Choose the level that you would like to have a go at.

Some of these activities are also in your pack – there are others on the website to have a go at.

KS2 Activity Book

Online Maths and English games.

There are a number of resources available on the website that you can work through with your child including a list of useful websites. Also the 'Take Away' homework sheet provides a lot of activities that you can also work through. Should there be any further updates we will send you a message either through the school text messaging service or Class DOJO.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Derbyshire
