Year 3

=========== =====

Mrs Finch is our Class Teacher Mrs Gaskell is our Teaching Assistant

Welcome back to year 3- I hope you had a fantastic Easter.

This term  our research project is ‘People and Places’. We will learn about where we live in the UK, and about another place called Bishop’s Stortford. We will spend some time talking about the physical and human features of the UK before we move onto studying ‘France’ in the last few weeks. During this time we will look at french culture, the language, the food and places within France. When the ‘Tour de France’ begins we will avidly watch to see how Chris Froome and Team Sky get on…and hope for a yellow jersey! This becomes part of our English as we report on the events of the Tour and write diaries as if we are cyclists riding the tour.

In Year 3 the children will require their swimming kit on a Wednesday and their PE kit on a Thursday. However, P.E. kits should be in school every day. Homework, including words of the week will be sent home in the home/ school diaries on a Friday and should be returned by Wednesday of the following week. Diaries should also be in school each day for staff to write in. In Year 3 the children change their own reading books when they need to and there are opportunities to do this daily.

I am looking forward to an exciting final term in year 3. If you have any problems or worries please don’t hesitate to pop in.

Thanks,
Mrs Finch
