Welcome back to year 3- I hope you had a fantastic half term.
This term we are going to be taking part in an English project called ‘A tale unfolds’. The children are becoming actors, directors, cameramen and scriptwriters! Hopefully over the next few weeks you will hear a lot about ‘Cindy, Ann and Bones and the Temple of Boom!’. Alongside this our research project is all about the Romans. We will learn about the Roman invasion of Britain, the resistance that the Celts attempted and the changes that the Romans brought. Alongside this we will be doing some artwork, DT and all sorts of other activities which go along with this project. After Easter we will also be going on a trip to the Grosvener museum in Chester to find out a little bit more and to make our history really come alive.

In Year 3 the children will require their P.E. kit on a Tuesday and their swimming kit on a Wednesday. However, P.E. kits should be in school every day. Homework, including words of the week will be sent home in the home/ school diaries on a Friday and should be returned by Wednesday of the following week. This term our English homework is ‘cracking comprehension’ and is designed to be done about your child’s reading book- check diaries to know which task we are up to! Diaries should also be in school each day for staff to write in. In Year 3 the children change their own reading books when they need to and there are opportunities to do this daily.
I am looking forward to an exciting term in year 3. If you have any problems or worries please don’t hesitate to pop in.
